About Joe: EMDR and Trauma Therapist in Gainesville
Hello, I’m Joe.
That’s me in the photo with my dog, Ryder, who brings a calming presence to just about everything.
I know that starting trauma therapy can feel intimidating. You may worry that you will have to explain too much, feel too much, or jump into painful memories before you are ready.
That is not how I approach this work.
My goal is to make therapy feel calm, human, and steady from the beginning. We can move slowly. We can start with what feels easiest to name. And we can build enough safety before going deeper.
My Therapy Style:
I use a calm, paced approach to trauma therapy. Depending on your needs, our work may include EMDR, grounding skills, parts work, nervous system regulation, and supportive talk therapy.
Before moving into deeper trauma work, I focus on helping you feel stable, prepared, and understood. We move at a pace that respects your system rather than forcing it.
A calm place to slow things down
When you have been carrying a lot, it can feel hard to know where to even begin. Therapy gives you a place to pause, breathe, and sort through what has been happening without pressure.
Warm, steady support
I try to bring a grounded presence into the room. My goal is for therapy to feel human, safe, and low-pressure — not cold, rushed, or overly clinical.
Pacing that respects your nervous system
Trauma work should not feel like being pushed into the deep end. We take time to build trust, notice what feels manageable, and move carefully.

Scheduling Info
Sessions are 50 minutes long and $80 per session. I do not take insurance. You will not be charged until your session, and you can cancel or reschedule as needed.
The first session is not about rushing into trauma work. It is mostly about getting a sense of what has been going on, what you are hoping will change, and what would help therapy feel safe enough to continue.
